VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Floyd Bonney Jr. and his wife Anne have been supplying fresh seafood to Virginia Beach locals and tourists for years.
Floyd got the nickname Dooney by his babysitter years ago. She named him after the sand dunes of nearby Sandbridge.
Way back in the 1960’s, Dooney was the first waterman to set a crab pot in Back Bay. It’s where he gets most of his fresh crabs for sale.
Bonney and Sons Seafood has been a local landmark in southern Virginia Beach since 2003. You can’t miss the colorful store on Princess Anne Road. But due to new development, Bonney and Sons will be forced to move down the street to nearby Pungo.
Find out more about his colorful and local landmark in this week’s edition of Reck on the Road.
