Norfolk library closes for hours due to ‘bee problem’

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Barron F. Black Branch Library in Norfolk was closed for a day after a bee nest was found outside the library Thursday.

The City of Norfolk Government posted on their Facebook page Thursday evening the following announcement:

Branch update! The Barron F. Black Branch has closed until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. Feel free to visit any of our other branch locations in the meantime and stay tuned for details!

Lori Crouch with the City of Norfolk said the yellow jacket bee nest was found outside the library and the bees were going inside the building.

The library reopened Friday shortly before noon.
