HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Crews from Coast Guard Station Little Creek rescued two people after both of their sailboats became disabled near Hampton Friday.
Coast Guard officials said the two sailboats stopped working about five miles west of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, just before 4 a.m.
Rescue crews medevaced one of the boaters to safety before they towed the second boat to safety.
The other sailboat will be towed away from York Spit Channel later in the day.
The Coast Guard has issued a warning to other boaters advising them the boat is still in the water.
