NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A man found dead in a Newport News parking lot Tuesday night has been identified by police.

21-year-old Dwayne Kahlil Ewin of Hampton died from injuries received during what police believe was a hit-and-run incident. Investigators are looking for the suspect vehicle, which is described as a dark blue or black Chevrolet sedan or SUV.

After a 911 call at 11:24 p.m., officers and EMS personnel responded to the intersection of Briarfield Road and Old Avenue for a report of an injured man laying in a parking lot, according to Donald Watt with the Newport News Police Department. They found Ewin suffering from serious injuries.
