Franklin Police searching for home invasion suspects

FRANKLIN, Va. (WAVY) — Franklin Police are searching for three men they say forced their way into a woman’s home, put a gun to her head and demanded money.

Officers responded to the home on the 1500 Block of Railroad Avenue for a call of a robbery in progress, Tuesday around 11:20 p.m. When officers arrived the suspects had fled the area.

According to police, the victim was in bed asleep when she heard someone knocking at the front door, she asked who was there however no one answered. When the victim cracked the door to see who it was, three men forced their way into the home.

One of the suspects put a long gun, either a rifle or a shotgun to the victims head and demanded money, said police. The other two suspects were also armed with handguns.

The victim told the suspects she had no money, after about 15 minutes the suspects fled without getting anything. Neither the victim nor her teenage daughter were injured.

The suspects are described as black males, one was wearing a grey hoodie and one was wearing a black hoodie. One suspect had dread locks and was wearing a white mask that covered his mouth and chin. All suspects are believed to be in their 20s.
