Chesapeake robbery suspects arrested in Portsmouth

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Police have taken two suspects into custody after an armed robbery Tuesday night.

Detective Dorriene Boykin with the Chesapeake Police Department said the two men displayed guns at the Zero’s Subs at 4107 Portsmouth Boulevard and robbed the Chesapeake restaurant, around 9 p.m.

Police then spotted the suspects’ vehicle on Airline Drive. The suspects pulled over in the 200 block of Bedford Drive and attempted to flee on foot, said police.

Chesapeake Police with the assistance of Portsmouth Police apprehended the two suspects near Greenwood Drive and Airline Boulevard in Portsmouth.

Boykin said no one was injured..

Police identified one of the suspects as a 17-year-old. He was charged with robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, conspiracy, grand larceny, wearing a mask in public (face covered with shirt), possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license.

The second suspect was identified as 21-year-old Keyon Vaughan. He was charged with robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, conspiracy, grand larceny, wearing a mask in public (face covered with shirt), possession of marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
