Virginia Beach man charged after fatal dog attack

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A pit bull killed a Yorkie in Virginia Beach Monday night, and now the dog’s owner faces two misdemeanor charges.

Animal Control identified James Obrian Inman, 19, as the owner because his pet has been deemed dangerous previously. Inman was charged with two counts of failure to control a dangerous dog and was also issued a summons for a dangerous dog hearing, according to authorities.

The Virginia Beach family who owned the Yorkie said the pit bull took their pet by the neck and shook it until it died.
