VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A man has been arrested in connection to an early Saturday morning rooftop burglary at a Subway restaurant.

Around 4:20 a.m., officers were dispatched to a burglar alarm at 1270 Diamond Springs Road, according to Tonya Borman with Virginia Beach police.

At the scene, police determined a suspect broke into the restaurant through the roof HVAC system. Several adjoining businesses also showed signs of attempted break-ins, including Susan’s Kitchenette, all via the roof HVAC system.

Evidence led detectives to identify the suspect as 34-year-old Justin Roland Creekmore of Bronx, N.Y. He was arrested and charged with burglary, attempted burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, and grand larceny.

Creekmore is being held in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.

Borman said there have only been three rooftop burglaries in the city this year.
