VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Beach Police have confirmed a man who was injured Friday morning was not shot, but instead struck with an unknown object in the head.
Officers responded to the 1700 block of Hiawatha Drive for a report of a gunshot victim, around 2:10 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found a manwith a head injury.
Dispatchers had said the man was shot in the head, but once taken to a hospital, officials determined that was not the case. His injuries are not life-threatening.
Through the investigation, detectives have determined that two unknown black males entered the residence and assaulted the male. No items were taken.
Authorities continue to investigate.
