Train strikes car in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk Police have confirmed a train has struck a car in Norfolk.

Norfolk Police and Fire Rescue responded to the accident near the 1500 block of Pritchard Street, just south of Miller Store Road, Thursday around 8:45 a.m.

Police said a four-door Cadillac was traveling southbound on Pritchard Street and was attempting to cross the railroad tracks, when a Bay Coast Railroad Train, that was traveling eastbound, collided with the car.

The man driving the Cadillac was treated on the scene for non-life threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported. Norfolk Police is currently investigating this accident. No charges have been filed.
