TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — Investigators say they don’t know what sparked an argument leading to the apparent murder-suicide of a Terre Haute couple just hours after their wedding.

Vigo County Sheriff Greg Ewing says detectives have been talking with those who attended the wedding and reception for 50-year-old Kelly Ecker Samson and 54-year-old George Samson but haven’t determined what caused their dispute.

Ewing tells the Tribune-Star that a small after-party was held at the couple’s home after a reception Saturday night at a Terre Haute banquet center. Some guests told investigators the couple wasn’t talking with each other but Kelly Samson declined to leave the house.

Police say George Samson shot his wife several times early Sunday after wedding guests left and then fatally shot himself.
