Car crashes into Norfolk thrift store

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk police confirm a vehicle crashed into a local thrift store Thursday evening, and then left the scene.

The hit-and-run crash happened around 5:30 p.m. at the CHKD Thrift Store at 6159 E. Virginia Beach Boulevard, according to Corporal Melinda Wray with the NPD.

At the scene, officers learned a black Nissan Maxima had crashed through the side wall of the store, entering the building. The driver fled the scene before police arrived.

The building was occupied at the time of the crash, but no one was injured. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
