SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A two-car crash in Suffolk sent a woman to the hospital and closed down Whaleyville Boulevard for 45 minutes Sunday afternoon.
A Nissan Versa didn’t slow down at the intersection of Copeland Road and Whaleyville when it collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe, according to officers.
Wanda Wilson, the Nissan driver, had to be pulled from her car by Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel. She has been charged with failure to yield, the release stated. Wilson is at Sentara Obici Hospital receiving treatment of non-life threatening injuries, said Diana Klink, media director for Suffolk.
The accident was in the 3000 block of Whaleyville around 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 5. The driver of the Tahoe was not injured.
