Vehicle runs into apartment; woman, child pinned beneath

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – A woman and child were trapped underneath a car burst into their bedroom Sunday night.

Henrico County Division of Fire units responded to the 8800 block of Three Chopt Road around 6:30 p.m. The car slammed into the side of the apartment building and into entered into one of the apartments. A woman and two children were in bed at the time.

Crews freed the first of two stuck beneath the vehicle in about four minutes and took another 10 to get the second. All three were rushed to the hospital. One child is in serious condition, according to Henrico County Fire Captain Daniel Rosenbaum.

The driver was sent to the hospital as well and is reported to be in stable condition.

There is no report on the cause of the accident at the time.
