NCDOT: 3-week closure on US 13 near state border

Just south of Paige Riddick Road, NCDOT will be replacing 96-inches of pipe.

GATES COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) – North Carolina state officials will start the three-week closure of U.S. Route 13 just below the Virginia border on Monday.

Detours will send traffic to Paige Riddick Road and Johnny Harrell Road in Gates County. Tractor trailers will be directed to U.S. Route 158 and North Carolina Highway 32. Local motorists can access the area up to the site of the closure. NCDOT stated the construction will start 8 a.m. Oct. 6 and continue through Oct. 27.

Crews will replace three 96-inch pipes south of Paige Riddick with a 34 foot by 11 foot aluminum box culvert.
