VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Thousands of walkers flocked to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Sunday morning – for the annual JT Walk and Beach Party for ALS.
That’s the same disease that brought many of you to dump buckets of ice on your head. This fundraiser was maybe a little more fun. After the walk, fundraisers celebrated with a beach party, food and drinks.
“We’ve raised so much,” said Ericka Armstrong. “It’s really exciting and we’re really happy to do this. It’s a great cause.”
The JT Walk and Beach Party is the largest single-day walk for ALS in the country. Since 2008, it has raised $7 million for ALS research.
