Suffolk courthouse bomb threat closes downtown streets

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A bomb threat at the Godwin Courts Building in Suffolk closed the streets nearby for almost a hour, Wednesday morning.

The building located at 150 North Main Street was evacuated after Emergency Communications was made aware of the threat at 9:45 a.m. The building reopened around 10:30 a.m. after police found no threat at the building.

The 100 block of East Washington Street, 100 block of Bank Street, 100 block of North Commerce Street, and the 100 block of North Main Street, which runs in front of the building, were closed while Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue investigated.
