NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk police are trying to identify a group of people captured on video near the scene of a shooting by Old Dominion University.

Police say an ODU student was shot near campus, along Killam Avenue, around 1:15 a.m. Saturday. A party was going on nearby, and police say surveillance video captured a group of people in the area who ran when they heard gunfire.

The video was from ODU security cameras at 41st Street and 45th Street. The first video shows the group walking across 41st Street, and the second video shows the same group running away from 43rd Street, down 45th Street.

Police say no one pictured in the video is a suspect, but that people in the group may have seen something that could help detectives develop a suspect.

The Norfolk Police Department needs your help identifying people in the group — call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP, if you recognize anyone in the video.
