NNPD: Shooting victim has life-threatening injuries

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Police in Newport News confirmed a shooting in the north end of the city Tuesday night.

A 34-year-old man was shot in the 1300 block of Chester Road at an apartment complex called Reserves at Deer Run, according to Lou Thurston with the Newport News Police Department.

The shooting happened around 6:20 p.m. Thurston said the victim is alive, but not expected to survive his injuries.

A witness told 10 On Your Side she saw two men leaving the apartment complex after the shooting. Police said the suspects are believed to be traveling in a gold Lincoln Town car or Cadillac.
