Pedestrian charged after hit by motorcycle in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A man hit by a motorcycle in Norfolk Tuesday is now facing charges.

A 911 call was received by emergency communications at 12:30 p.m. for officers and EMS to respond to East Ocean View Avenue and Warwick Avenue. According to Officer Daniel Hudson with Norfolk police, the man walked in front of a motorcycle traveling west on E. Ocean View Ave.

The pedestrian was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, with serious, but not life-threatening injuries. The motorcyclist was also transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital to be evaluated for injuries that are not life-threatening.

Police charged the pedestrian with drunk in public and pedestrian in the roadway. The motorcyclist will not be charged.

All westbound traffic was closed in the area of the accident while officials investigated.
