Man demands drugs at Portsmouth pharmacy

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — The Portsmouth Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating a pharmacy robbery Monday afternoon.

A man went to the pharmacy consultation area at the Walgreens Pharmacy in the 5900 block of High Street around 2 p.m. There he told an employee he had a gun and demanded prescription drugs, according to Detective Misty Holley with the Portsmouth Police Department.

The employee complied and the suspect left in a silver or gray vehicle that was last seen heading toward Chesapeake.

The suspect is described as a 300-pound white man with blonde hair and blue eyes. He is about five and a half feet tall. He was wearing a black sweatshirt, blue baseball cap and blue jeans.

Anyone who can identify the suspect from the surveillance picture is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
