NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – After a hiatus, Carnival is returning to Hampton Roads.
The Carnival Splendor, which can carry 3,000 passengers, will begin leaving from Norfolk in 2015. The cruise line is offering cruises in May and October.
Each time a ship docks at the Half Moone Cruise & Celebration Center, it means passengers spend money during their stay. Carnival pulled out of Norfolk three years ago, citing rising fuel costs, but city and state leaders worked out a deal to bring it back.
If next year’s schedule is successful, there may be additional runs in the future.
