NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk Police Detectives have made an arrest in connection to a shooting that left one man dead and three others injured Sunday.
Norfolk Police said preliminary investigations revealed 23-year-old Tecorey D. Fortson was present at the scene of the shooting that happened on the 1200 block of Reservoir Avenue, around 3 a.m.
Witnesses said Fortson brandished a firearm and threatened a woman shortly before the shooting.
Fortson sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound prior to fleeing from the area and sought medical assistance hours after the shooting at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, according to police.
He has been charged with brandishing a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is currently being held without bond at the Norfolk City Jail.
Three others were injured during the incident. One of the victims, 24-year-old Jordan Smith, died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
