VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A grand jury has indicted a 23-year-old man in the investigation of his mother’s death.
In Virginia Beach Circuit Court on Monday, Blair Joshua Carr was indicted for the first-degree murder of his mother, Rosetta Carr, on March 22.
Police officers found 50-year-old Rosetta inside a home, suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Virginia Beach police.
Neighbors of the victim told WAVY.com the woman was a mother of three adult sons and an adult daughter. She had been living at the residence alone until her son moved back in about a month before the murder.
Carr’s trial is scheduled for October 15, but could be continued or turn into motions hearings, according to the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
