Portsmouth Marine Terminal reopens

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — The Portsmouth Marine Terminal reopened after being closed for three years.

Trucks will begin unloading exports at the terminal Monday morning.

The first ship will come early next month to pick up the cargo. The port was left quiet and empty when nearby APM terminals started operations.

A Port of Virginia official said, re-opening the terminal because of demand is a good sign our local economy is healthy.
