PD: Chemicals related to meth found in man’s car

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Police arrested a man and woman following an investigation in a 7-Eleven parking lot Monday afternoon.

Around 3:20 p.m. officers encountered a man in a vehicle at the 7-Eleven store in the 2400 block of Nimmo Parkway, according to Tonya Borman with Virginia Beach police. While they were questioning the man, they found chemicals in the vehicle, known to be used to make methamphetamine. A HazMat crew was called to assist police investigators.

Borman said there was no meth lab at the scene.

Detectives arrested two people from Fredericksburg, Va.

Megan Snopps, 20, and Thomas Trevino, 27, were each charged with two counts of manufacturing/possession of a controlled substance, conspiracy to violate the drug control act and possess/distribute controlled paraphernalia. Both are being held on bond in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center.
