DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) — Two people were arrested last week in Kill Devil Hills as the result of a narcotics investigation.

An investigation by the Dare County Narcotics Task Force led officers to believe 41-year-old Erin Leigh Ricketts and 34-year-old Shonna Nicole Crain were selling heroin in the county, according to Chief Deputy Steve Hoggard with the Dare County Sheriff’s Office.

When the pair returned to their residence last Tuesday, task force officers intercepted them and found them  to be in possession of a trafficking amount of heroin, according to Hoggard.

Both suspects were charged with trafficking in heroin by possession, trafficking in heroin by transportation and conspire to traffic heroin. They were both committed to the Dare County Detention Center in lieu of a $180,000 bond.
