VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A Virginia beach grand jury indicted the man accused of trying to rob an Oceanfront drug store and killing a pharmacist.
The jury returned the following indictments against Walter Lane Hubbard on Monday: first-degree murder, robbery, attempted robbery, and three counts use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He was also indicted on another charge of robbery related to a separate incident at another Virginia Beach pharmacy on April 14.
Hubbard is accused of shooting and murdering David Kilgore back in April, then leading police on a chase half-way through the city. Police say he was a drug addict and was trying to get oxycodone.
He is being held in the Virginia Beach City Jail without bond. His trial is scheduled for October 15, but could be continued or turn into motions hearings, according to the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
