NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Department of Transportation held a design public hearing Wednesday on the proposed continuous flow intersection to be built at Military Highway and Northampton Boulevard in Norfolk.
The public hearing happened from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Lake Taylor High School.
The CFI, part of the overall Military Highway widening project, is a new type of high-volume intersection design expected to improve traffic flow at Military Highway from Lowery Road to Broad Creek and from Broad Creek to the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks and the northern section of Military HIghway near I-64 and Robin Hood Road.
The design will move left turning vehicles away from the main intersections.
VDOT is encouraging the public to comment on the project — just call 757-494-5483 or email firstname.lastname@example.org with “Military Highway CFI Project” as the subject line.
