NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk health officials issued a swimming advisory on Tuesday for a section of Ocean View Beach, which has been lifted.

Water samples from the beach, between Baypoint Drive and 15th View Street, revealed enterococcia bacteria levels were higher than State Water Quality Standards, according to Brian Knight, Environmental Health Supervisor for the Norfolk Department of Public Health.

On Thursday, most of that area was back within state standards. The water at Sarah Constance Beach remained under the swimming advisory, until Friday when it was lifted.
