ODU awaits first FBS home game

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – For the first time since Old Dominion has been playing football in this modern era, an FBS team is actually coming to Foreman Field to take on the Monarchs.

But before you get too excited, the visitor is Eastern Michigan–a team that has only won four games the past couple of years, and its lone win this season was a 31-28 win over Morgan State of the MEAC.

But you know coach Bobby Wilder loves it when his Monarchs make history.

“We’ve never played an FBS home game,” Wilder said. “For the 12th Monarchs, for our players, this is the first time ever somebody is coming to us and we need to take advantage of that and get that first ever home FBS win, so that’s the motivation for us this week.”

ODU is favored by 18 points.
