NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A gas leak in a Norfolk neighborhood Thursday morning has been repaired.

Crews were doing construction work on a vacant home when the gas line broke, according to Chief Julian Williamson with Norfolk Fire and Rescue. Dispatchers say the crews were knocking down the old home.

Virginia Natural Gas crews responded to the 8300 block of Old Ocean View Avenue to secure the leak. The Norfolk Fire Department monitored the scene until gas crews arrived.

No evacuations were issued and no injuries were reported, Williamson said.
