3 students transported after school bus collision

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Emergency crews are on the scene of a double school bus crash Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened at 2:30 p.m., according to Kelly O’Sullivan with Chesapeake police. She said one school bus rear-ended another on Eden Way, at the intersection with Greenbrier Parkway.

Both buses had students on board — three were transported to Chesapeake General Hospital for minor injuries, O’Sullivan said. The rest were transferred to additional school buses, which took them back to Greenbrier Intermediate School.

Kellie Goral, a Chesapeake City Schools spokeswoman, said the school was notifying parents of the incident.

Police are investigating the crash. No further information has been released, at this time.
