Sheriff’s office: Man robs Rip’s convenience store

YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Deputies in York County are investigating a commercial robbery that happened Monday evening.

Just before 9 p.m., a man went inside Rip’s convenience store on Denbigh Boulevard and robbed the business of cigarettes and cash, according to the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office. He fled the area, running into the city of Newport News.

The suspect was described as a white male, 5’7,” and 180 lbs. He was wearing blue jeans, a blue shirt, blue and white hat, white sneakers and a white towel around his face.
