SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Suffolk officials say a man died Sunday evening after a residential drowning report.
Around 9:15 p.m., a 44-year-old man was discovered unresponsive in a backyard pool of a Kings Fork Road residence, Diana Klink with the city of Suffolk said.
Suffolk police and fire-rescue crews responded to the home. The man was transported to Sentara Obici Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as Calvin S. Hogan, of Suffolk.
At the time Hogan was found unresponsive, a party was taking place at the home, Klink said.
Investigators say the incident is not considered suspicious, but the police department is continuing to investigate.
