$7k worth of items stolen from JCC storage unit

JAMES CITY COUNTY — The owner of the contents of a storage unit in James City County discovered Tuesday that about $7,000 worth of his personal belongings had been stolen.

Around 11 a.m., James City County police received a report of a theft from a storage unit along Manufacture Drive, according to Deputy Chief if Police Steve Rubino.

The victim told police that the lock had been removed from the storage unit and so had the contents. Then someone replaced the lock with another lock. The victim said the theft happened sometime between October 2013 and August 2014.

The thief took air conditioners, camping equipment, a tool box, power and hand tools, a jewelry box, jewelry, a stereo, and a refrigerator from the unit.
