DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) — A grand jury has indicted three North Carolina residents in conjunction with a breaking and entering case.
According to the Dare County Sheriff’s Office, they received a report of the breaking and entering of a residence on Roanoke Island on February 17. Patrol deputies and a K-9 investigated.
After a several-month-long investigation, the sheriff’s office identified three people as suspects in the break-in. Two of the suspects are believed to have then harbored the third suspect.
On August 23, 20-year-old Courtney Elizabeth Sadler of Roanoke Island was charged with breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering. She was released on a $5,000 bond.
On August 22, 22-year-old Otto Joel Stetson and 23-year-old Ashley Mae McCarter, both of Manteo, were charged with harboring a fugitive. Stetson was released on a $1,000 bond and McCarter was released on a $5,000 bond.
The sheriff’s office said more arrests are expected in the case.
