NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Wednesday, a judge denied bond again for a woman accused of trying to run over a Norfolk police officer and a crowd of people.

The officer shot and wounded Jasmine Glespie when police say she didn’t listen to commands to get out of her car. This all happened August 3 on Glen Myrtle Avenue off Hampton Boulevard near Naval Station Norfolk.

Glespie’s attorney argued during Wednesday’s hearing that his client needs to be out of jail so she can get proper treatment for her injuries. Jacquelyn Robinson testified for her daughter’s defense. After court, she told WAVY.com, “I still have faith she will still get through this, but it doesn’t take away to pain I see in the courtroom, and I know she’s still hurting.”

Glespie is assigned to USS Theodore Roosevelt. A Navy representative was also present in the courtroom.
