FRANKLIN, Va. (WAVY) – A Franklin barber shop owner is facing a list of charges following the investigation into allegations of crimes against a minor.
Police collected evidence and arrested 48-year-old Robert Edward Lyons Jr. the next day. He’s been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, three counts prostitution, solicitation of a minor less than 16 years of age and four counts possession of a firearm/ammunition by a convicted felon.
Capt. T.W. Whitt with Franklin Police said the child who came forward is a girl under the age of 16.
Based on the nature of the offense and evidence gathered, Capt. Whitt said investigators believe there are other victims.
“Talk to your children if they’ve had any contact with Mr. Lyons or have been known to frequent his business or his residence,” Whitt said. “Parents need to talk to their children to find out if in fact they’ve been a victim of inappropriate conduct.”
Detectives would like to hear from any other possible victims. Contact Detective Corporal Karl Boone or Detective Randall Bailey at 757-562-8597.
WAVY.com has learned Lyons is a registered sexual offender in the state of Florida.
