PD: Beauty supply employee injured during robbery

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Investigators in Norfolk are trying to identify the suspect of a commercial robbery Friday evening.

Around 7:15 p.m. Friday, employees at JC Beauty Supply on Cromwell Drive called Norfolk police dispatchers, reporting a robbery in progress, according to police.

Witnesses told police that a black man, approximately 30 to 35-years-old, entered the business, displayed a gun and demanded money from the cash register. When he got cash, the suspect, who was wearing a white t-shirt, fled the store.

Police say the employee who handed over the cash received minor injuries during the incident. That employee was treated by medics at the scene.
