Gunshot victim found inside Suffolk home

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A man shot in Suffolk early Friday morning is recovering in a Norfolk hospital.

Suffolk police were called to the 100 block of S. 5th Street just before 2 a.m. and found the shooting victim lying on the floor inside a home. Police say the victim, identified as 40-year-old Joe Bernard Saunders, received medical treatment on scene and was then airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he is currently listed in stable condition.
