Rabid cat attacks residents, cats in Poquoson

Rabid cat bites two people

POQUOSON, Va. (WAVY) — The Peninsula Health District wants to warn you about a rabid cat found in Poquoson.

Officials say a stray cat aggressively attacked two residents and at least three other cats in the area of Carys Chapel Road and Wythe Creek Road.

The cat was tested for the rabies virus and found to be positive.

The health department asks anyone who might have been exposed to the animal call 757-594-7340.
