PD: Intoxicated woman kicked officer during arrest

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) – A Danville woman is facing a list of charges after police say she kicked an officer during her arrest.

Williamsburg Police responded to the 3000 block of Richmond Road Wednesday evening around 6 p.m. for an intoxicated person. Officers arrived to find a woman yelling and threatening to assault someone. Officers approached the woman, determined she was intoxicated and attempted to take her into custody for drunk in public. According to police spokesman Greg Riley, she resisted arrest and kicked one of the officers trying to put her in the police vehicle.

The officer was not seriously hurt.

The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Brittany Marie Hogan, was taken to jail and charged with assault and battery on a police office of firefighter, obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and drunk in public.
