ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – A two-car crash on the Eastern Shore Wednesday afternoon left one woman dead and several others injured.

According to Sgt. Michelle Anaya with Virginia State Police, 30-year-old Catilina Perez Mejia was driving a Hyundai Accent west on Temperanceville Road when she failed yield at the Route 13 intersection and drove into the path of a Dodge Durango, which was heading north on Route 13.

The impact of the collision killed Mejia. Three others who were inside the car were injured and taken to a hospital in Salisbury, Maryland for treatment.

The driver of the Durango and another person in the SUV suffered minor injuries. Three others who were in the truck were not injured.

Alcohol and speed did not play a factor in the crash, according to Sgt. Anaya.
