PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – A man was stabbed in the chest early Wednesday in Portsmouth.
Misty Holley with the Portsmouth Police Department said officers were called to the 1100 block of Virginia Avenue around 3 a.ml, and found the stabbing victim. The man was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Police did not know the extent of the victim’s injuries.
According to Holley, the man told investigators he was stabbed by a woman. She said charges were secured against the woman, but it is unclear if she has been arrested at this time.
Police said the stabbing happened at the London Oaks apartment complex.
On Sunday, two men were stabbed nearby in the 2600 block of Portsmouth Boulevard. Both victims in that case were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
