Missouri teen’s shooting death prompts peaceful protest in VB

Virginia Beach Peace rally

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A peaceful protest was held Sunday afternoon in Virginia Beach.

A group gathered in Town Center at the intersection of Independence and Virginia Beach boulevards. They held signs in support of teenager Michael Brown and said they’re seeking justice in the case.

One man participating in the demonstration said officer-involved shootings are happening too often.

“The key point of it is, we’ve had too many of these issues. We had these issues all over the state, all over the country and it’s happening more frequently toward black men than any other men, any other race and it shouldn’t be that way,” said Will Gilchrist.
