VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Girl Scouts from across the area put their boat-making skills to the test this weekend. It was part of the inaugural Duck Tape Regatta at First Landing State Park.
This weekend’s event was through Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast.
17 teams made boats out of cardboard and duct tape, and then raced them in the Chesapeake Bay.
WAVY News’ Liz Palka was one of the judges.
There was even a “Titanic Award” for the boat that sank the best.
