3 given award after saving woman trapped by crash

GLOUCESTER, Va. (WAVY) – The Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office presented three people with awards after they helped rescue a woman who was trapped in a car crash.

According to a post on the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page, the crash happened on June 25 around 9:40 a.m. on Farys Mill Road. A woman was trapped inside her vehicle while it burned.

The sheriff’s office said Michael Hedrick, Kelvin Coleman and Brandon Harrington helped save the woman’s life. They broke the glass out of the vehicle, and helped her get out.

Sheriff Warren presented the three citizens with the Gloucester Sheriff’s Office Civilian Lifesaving Award at a recent meeting.
