Vacant house fire in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – A vacant house caught fire in Portsmouth Saturday evening.

Dispatch received the call around 6:00 p.m. for a house fire in the 3200 block of Gwin Street.

Chief Mike Stockton with the Portsmouth Fire Department confirmed that the single-story house was vacant.

The fire started in the back of the house and spread to the attic.

Nobody was injured as a result of the fire.
