PD: Man, home hit by gunfire in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Hampton police are investigating a shooting after a man was injured early Friday morning.

According to the Hampton Police Division, officers were called to the 600 block of Milford Avenue around 1:50 a.m. to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a 30-year-old man with a single gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Investigators learned the victim was in a vehicle when the suspect (or suspects) began to shoot from inside another vehicle.

Police said the victim was wounded, and the vehicle crashed into a parked car. A home on Milford Avenue was also hit by a bullet, but no one was hurt.

Police do not have any suspect information at this time, and the motive remains under investigation.
